Bands

January 31, 2008

Plural.

Not only is the originals band of doom going well, in that the drummer is on board and 2 full songs are written, with a 3rd in the works, written by yours truly. BUT – the historic Band That Never Was™ is making a revival! New singer, better repetoire, less rehearsals and more gigs.

At last nights Jim-Jam (it’s the term I coined for a Jam night at the Gentleman Jim…) The BTNW came together and bashed through Breathe by Pink Floyd (one of my favourite, if not most favourite Pink Floyd song – and it went well) and I really enjoyed myself – Tuesday I played a couple of songs that were a little bit different to what I normally play, but it means that I get to exercise a different side of my playing, which is always nice…

Alas, the super-hot single babe who’s into motorcycle-riding, guitar-playing guys was noticibly absent from both jams so far this week, but I’m still hopeful for tonight and Sunday, but I’m not holding my breath about it…

I’m now going to leave work, since I started writing this blog a while ago, but sending e-mails has delayed me from finishing this! I’m sure there was much I had planned to write, but can’t remember it now. I’ve finished reading Angels and Demons, and nearly finished Da Vinci Code – so I’m now looking for a new book to read.

All suggestions gratefully accepted via e-mail, comment, postcard, text, carrier pigeon – how ever you see fit!

  1. The Time Traveller’s Wife — Audrey Niffeneger. Read it before you die. Also Feed My Dear Dogs by Emma Richtler (I think that’s her name, I think that’s what the books’s called, but I might be a bit out on some details). I don’t know if either of them are your kind of thing although anyone who doesn’t cry at the end of the Niffeneger is probably a psychopath and should be kept in a cushioned cell for hte duration of their days. Anyway, they are my Book Club Recommendations Of The Week. What should I be reading? Other than Dan Browne?

  2. I definately plan on reading TTTW – I’ve heard good things! I’m currently reading The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen – It’s good, if you like medical based thrillers… Actually – you probably might!!
